ONE PLAYGROUND PHILOSOPHY: “GREAT HUMANS”.
We are driven by our core values including “One Team” of “Great Humans” who “Master their Craft” and of course “Do Cool Sh*t!”. We believe that if we take care of our people, they will take care of our members.
People have been the key differentiator to One Playground’s success. Today, we have a team of 450 Great Humans, a Senior Leadership team with an average tenure of 8 years, and being consistently recognised as one of Australia’s best places to work.
Our human centric awards include being rated Top 50 Places to Work in Australia, Employer of Choice Award, AFR Best Places to Work and the ABA100® Winner for Training Excellence. The brand has been named as the best multi modality gym in Australia and the best boutique gym brand in APAC, while being mentioned along the likes of Six Senses hotels and Equinox.
BRAND AMBITION.
At One Playground, we are committed to creating the best gyms, not just the most gyms. The spaces are unique, we invest in curated designs, with luxury finishes and experiential moments.
Our ambition is to create more than a gym. But rather to create an ecosystem of premium lifestyle brands that Inspire Change for our members and our staff.
We do this through changing the gym environment and experience through beautifully curated spaces, quality coaching, experiential classes, premium wellness and community connection. And as we look to the future, we will do this beyond the gym with the One Coach and Destination One (retreat) brands.
The right Executive Assistant will believe in our vision, and have the skills, ambition and energy to bring it to life.
THE ROLE & FOUNDER.
The role of Executive Assistant to the Founder / CEO is to make sure our Founder spends his time on what only he can do, and that nothing he commits to ever gets lost.
Our Founder is hands-on and operates at a very high output, across a growing portfolio of new locations, multiple brands, major projects and a team of hundreds. That creates a constant stream of decisions, commitments and follow-ups. You’ll be the person who captures every one of them, keeps them moving and makes sure they close.
You’ll own his calendar, inbox and priorities, run the commitment register across the leadership team, prepare the documents and presentations that carry our brand, and get out into our clubs to keep people and product standards where they should be.
The founder has 3 young children and a busy schedule, both inside and outside of work. As trust builds, you’ll become his right hand across both professional and personal matters, freeing him to focus on his passions: design, brand, marketing and people, while making sure he gets home in time for dinner and prioritises his personal health and fitness.
This isn’t a role for someone who wants to quietly manage a diary. It’s for a career EA with very high standards, the confidence to chase a CEO for an overdue action, and the judgement to know what matters most today.
If you love being the person who makes everything work, and want to help make our leadership team and support office the world’s best place to work, this is your next move.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES.
Calendar & Meeting Management
- Own the Founder’s calendar, and structure every day around agreed priorities.
- Prepare a briefing before every meeting: who’s attending, what was agreed last time, what’s outstanding and the decision needed, with key documents already circulated.
- Capture every commitment made by the Founder and Head of Department in meetings, calls and conversations, using digital tools.
- Ensure meeting areas and spaces are prepared.
Inbox & Correspondence
- Run the Founder’s inbox: triage, categorise, action and archive.
- Draft responses for approval, and send directly within an agreed scope, from scheduling and introductions to follow-ups and logistics.
- Flag anything that needs the Founder’s direct attention, every day.
Task Management
- Keep registers of every active task and project, with owners and due dates.
- Follow up on what’s outstanding, and escalate unresolved items to the COO. Ensure you follow up with the Founder on his own commitments too.
- Understand priorities for the company, the founder and the HOD’s to ensure the right tasks are prioritised.
Presentations & Documents
- Prepare, format and polish presentations, proposals and supporting documents.
- Apply sharp editorial judgement to quality and presentation, including company communications.
- Keep our document templates and brand-consistent document library up to date.
- Maintain records, files and reports in a structured, easy-to-find way.
Leadership Support, Events & Office
- Coordinate Senior Leadership meetings end to end: logistics, agenda, briefing materials, minutes and follow-up.
- Plan and coordinate company and senior leadership events.
- Oversee the day-to-day running of our Surry Hills head office, from supplies and printing to cleaning, facilities and visitors.
Founder Personal Optimisation
- Supercharge the Founder’s efficiency across professional and personal matters.
- Manage personal administration and personal finances, working with the Finance Manager, external accountant and CFO.
- Book and manage domestic and international travel for the Founder and Senior Leaders.
- Build complete itineraries covering transport, accommodation, meetings, contacts and briefing materials.
- Take on broader personal organisational and personal support as trust develops.
- You will ensure that his family and fitnes are prioritised.
People & Product Standards
- Visit every site each quarter, and report back on the people and product standards.
- Audit weekly club manager reports and escalate issues as needed.
- Review staff and customer feedback. Track recurring or unresolved site issues over time.
- Attend new site and product launches, from events and classes to fit-outs and club openings.
Improvement Projects
- Identify risks and opportunities that need to be addressed.
- Pitch new projects that lift the Founder’s performance, the company’s performance or the brand.
ABOUT YOU To excel in this role:
- You have very high standards and an eye for detail that others notice.
- You have solid emotional intelligence and great people skills.
- You are described as trustworthy with high integrity.
- You have the resilience and confidence to hold your position with a CEO and senior executives, and to follow up until it’s done.
- You stay calm under pressure, can juggle multiple priorities and move with speed.
- You’re flexible with hours and location, including early starts, time on site and busier periods.
- You see executive support as a long-term career, not a stepping stone.
- You have a genuine interest in health, fitness and wellness.
YOUR EXPERIENCE The successful candidate would have a track record of supporting a high performing leader in a fast-moving company. You may have come from another EA role, or perhaps you worked in a founder-led business, interior design, a premium hospitality or lifestyle brand, in a role that required high standards of organisation.

Highly regarded
- Direct experience as an Executive Assistant.
- Experience or a keen interest in fitness/wellness, hospitality, design or property.
- Strong visual judgement across documents, spaces and materials.
- Proficiency in design and presentation software, including Canva, InDesign or Figma.
- An interest in digital tools that lift work quality and efficiency.
- Experience managing travel, events and personal administration for senior leaders.
WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOU:
- A Seat at the Centre. Work side by side with the Founder of an award-winning brand, with a front-row view of how a premium lifestyle group is built and grown.

- The Benefits. Work in our loft style office in Surry Hills, get free gym membership across every One Playground location, plus a host of benefits including socials, sports and partner discounts.
- The World’s Best Industry. Work in an industry that makes people happier, healthier, live longer and values human connection.
