Role - Role Summary An exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Lead - ICT (Network Security) to join a major Cyber Security Program. You will take a technical lead role in the implementation, replacement and upgrade of enterprise firewall infrastructure, providing hands-on technical expertise, advanced troubleshooting and strategic advice. This role is ideal for a senior network security professional with extensive Check Point firewall experience, complemented by strong Palo Alto and Cisco networking expertise.

Employment Type and Duration: Contract 12 months plus extensions

Location: Brisbane CBD, QLD

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end deployment, configuration, replacement and upgrades of Check Point firewalls.
- Provide technical expertise across Palo Alto solutions, Secure Web Gateway (SWG) and F5 LTM/GTM/WAF technologies.
- Integrate firewall solutions with Cisco routing and switching, ensuring connectivity, resilience and high availability.
- Manage and optimise firewall rule bases using AlgoSec/NSPM or equivalent policy management platforms.
- Monitor firewall performance and health using SolarWinds and proactively troubleshoot complex issues.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis and technical guidance to project and BAU teams.
- Develop technical artefacts including solution designs, configurations, implementation plans, testing documentation and change/rollback procedures.
- Work closely with suppliers, integrators,



project teams and operational stakeholders to successfully transition new capabilities into operations.

Required Skills & Experience
- Extensive hands-on experience with Check Point firewall technologies, including builds, replacements, upgrades, troubleshooting and policy optimisation.
- Robust practical experience with Palo Alto technologies within large enterprise environments.
- Strong experience with Cisco routing and switching, particularly firewall and network security integration.
- Experience with F5 LTM/GTM/WAF, AlgoSec/NSPM and SolarWinds or similar technologies.
- Strong understanding of cyber security frameworks, network security, change management and service management practices.
- Demonstrated experience providing advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis and third-level technical support.
- Ability to produce high-quality technical designs, implementation plans, configurations and change/rollback documentation.
- Strong analytical, stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to provide technical leadership across complex environments.
