About CatholicCare
At CatholicCare Diocese of Broken Bay, our purpose is to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals, families and communities. Guided by compassion, dignity and respect, we deliver services that strengthen families, support vulnerable children and help people thrive.
As our services continue to grow, we're creating new opportunities for passionate leaders to make an impact, develop great teams and shape the future of our programs.
About Families Together
Families Together is growing, and we’re looking for a leader who is excited to grow with us.
Funded by the NSW Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), Families Together provides flexible, family-centred support to help keep children safe, strengthen family relationships and prevent the need for out-of-home care wherever possible.
Working alongside parents and carers, the program builds on family strengths and helps create safe, nurturing environments where children can thrive. Through practical assistance, parenting support and targeted case management, we help families navigate complex challenges and build the confidence and capabilities to create lasting change.
With increasing demand for our services across Northern Sydney, this is an exciting opportunity to join a growing program and play a key role in its continued development and success.
About The Role
We're seeking a Program Manager - Families Together to lead and strengthen service delivery across Northern Sydney on a permanent, full-time basis.
Reporting to the Area Manager, you'll provide leadership to a team of approximately ten staff, creating an environment where practitioners feel supported, families receive high-quality services and children remain at the centre of every decision.
This is an opportunity to combine people leadership, practice oversight and operational management. You'll guide complex casework, strengthen practice standards, support staff development and ensure the program continues to deliver safe, effective and evidence-based interventions as it grows.
You'll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to build strong partnerships,
respond to community needs and ensure the program delivers meaningful outcomes for children and families.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Lead and develop your team - provide supervision, mentoring and practice guidance to build a confident, capable and engaged team.
- Drive quality service delivery - oversee casework, assessments, case plans, reviews and family interventions, ensuring child safety remains the priority.
- Strengthen practice and outcomes - champion trauma-informed, strengths-based and evidence-based approaches that respond to the needs of children and families.
- Navigate complex family circumstances - guide practitioners supporting families experiencing challenges such as domestic and family violence, mental health concerns and alcohol or other drug misuse.
- Support a growing program - monitor workloads and service delivery, identify opportunities for improvement and help ensure the program can respond effectively to increasing demand.
- Build strong partnerships - collaborate with DCJ, community organisations and internal stakeholders to strengthen support for families.
- Maintain accountability and compliance - ensure program requirements, reporting obligations and outcome measures are met.
- Provide operational leadership - support effective service delivery, including participation in relevant on-call arrangements.
What You'll Bring You'll be a collaborative and purpose-driven leader who understands the complexities of family support and knows how to bring out the best in a team.
You'll Also Bring
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or a related discipline.
- At least 2-3 years' experience leading and supervising a team in a relevant human services setting.
- Strong knowledge of child safety, child development and family-focused interventions.
- Demonstrated experience applying trauma-informed,
strengths-based and human-rights-based approaches.
- An understanding of Family Systems Theory and the ability to support practitioners working with complex family dynamics.
- The ability to guide casework, support sound clinical and practice decisions, and maintain high professional standards.
- Solid communication, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to build productive partnerships.
- A commitment to continuous improvement, reflective practice and achieving meaningful outcomes for children and families.
Why Join CatholicCare? You'll be joining an organisation where your leadership matters, your ideas are valued and your work contributes to stronger families and safer futures for children.
