A Day in the Life

Operating from our Collingwood laboratory and reporting directly to the Development Lead, you will support the formulation and testing stages of new and reformulated Aesop preparations. You help guide each product through our stage-gate process with quiet precision, honouring Aesop’s exacting design ethos while aligning with international cosmetic standards.

Please note, this is a fixed term contract prospect.

- Support daily laboratory operations, maintaining disciplined testing protocols and preparing cosmetic batches and experimental prototypes.
- Monitor stability, preservative efficacy, and analytical testing, drawing on our 35+ years of pioneering safety science and reconstructed skin models.
- Maintain and organise developmental records across our R&D; database, logging formulation parameters and raw materials with meticulous care.
- Coordinate sample packaging and logistics for internal validation, external regulatory testing, and global product registration.
- Evaluate emerging ingredients and green tech materials, assessing their sensory attributes, physical stability, and synergy with Aesop product standards.

We Are Looking For You bring genuine intellectual curiosity, practical laboratory discipline, and an appreciation for considered, well-crafted formulation design. You bring:

- Testing: Practical familiarity with bench chemistry, preparation of cosmetic emulsions and solutions, and stability protocols.
- Documentation &
- Scientific Accuracy: Methodical precision when recording experimental observations, managing raw material data, and tracking formulation milestones.
- Cooperative Communication: Clear written and spoken dialogue, comfortable sharing laboratory findings across multi-disciplinary teams.

- Time Management: Ability to navigate concurrent testing schedules while upholding high technical and aesthetic standards.
- Scientific Curiosity &
- Learning: An open mindset to explore green chemistry, raw material innovation, and progressive formulation techniques.
