Re.Group

Melbourne

At Re.Group, we turn waste into new possibilities.

As an Australian-owned recycling and resource recovery business, we're working towards a wasteless society, keeping valuable materials in use and out of landfill.

Our work makes a real difference. We collaborate with charities, private organisations and government to deliver recycling solutions that benefit local communities and contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable future.

We back our people with the trust, support and opportunities they need to learn, grow and do their best work.

About the Role

We're looking for a Reliability Engineer to help keep our recycling facilities running safely, efficiently and reliably.

Working closely with our maintenance and operations teams, you'll take a hands-on approach to improving equipment performance, reducing downtime and strengthening maintenance practices.

You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of reliability initiatives, solve complex technical problems and contribute ideas that improve how things are done. It's a role where your expertise and practical approach will make a visible difference to our operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Improve equipment reliability, availability and maintenance efficiency to minimise unplanned downtime.
- Analyse equipment performance, maintenance trends and recurring failures to identify practical, sustainable solutions.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent repeat failures.
- Develop and improve preventative and corrective maintenance strategies to optimise equipment performance and reduce costs.
- Work closely with site operations and maintenance teams to identify opportunities to improve equipment, processes and productivity.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records,

asset registers, work orders and schedules using our MEX maintenance management system.
- Manage spare parts inventory, stock accuracy and critical spares availability to support operational reliability.
- Coordinate specialist contractors and suppliers for technical support, maintenance activities and equipment improvements.
- Deliver small-scale improvement projects, equipment upgrades and maintenance initiatives.
- Share technical knowledge and support the development of maintenance capability across our teams.

About You

You're a practical, solutions-focused engineer who enjoys getting involved, solving problems and finding better ways of doing things. You take pride in your work, value safety and work well with people across different teams.

You'll bring

- A qualification in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- At least 3 years' maintenance or reliability experience in recycling, manufacturing or heavy mechanical industries.
- Strong technical troubleshooting, fault analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with preventative maintenance, root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
- The ability to interpret OEM manuals, engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Experience using computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS), ideally MEX.
- Good communication skills and a willingness to share knowledge and work collaboratively.

- A strong commitment to safety, accountability and doing the job properly.
- Flexibility to support occasional weekend shutdowns, equipment installations and commissioning activities.
