Retail SME/Architect

Location Melbourne, VIC, Australia

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Retail SME / Architect who understands retail business processes and technology. The person will work with customers and internal teams to identify business challenges and design practical technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide expertise across key retail areas such as:

o Store operations o eCommerce and omnichannel o Supply chain and fulfilment o Merchandising o Pricing and promotions o Inventory management o Customer and loyalty

· Understand customer business and technology challenges and recommend solutions.

· Develop solution architecture and transformation roadmaps.

· Identify opportunities for AI, GenAI, automation and digital transformation within retail.

· Work with application, cloud, data, infrastructure and integration teams to develop end-to-end solutions.

· Support customer workshops, RFPs, proposals and presentations.

· Bring retail industry trends, best practices and innovative ideas into customer discussions.





· Work closely with delivery teams to ensure solutions meet business requirements.

Skills & Experience

· 15+ years of IT/consulting experience with strong retail industry knowledge.

· Good understanding of retail business processes and technology.

· Experience with retail platforms such as POS, eCommerce, Order Management, Inventory, Merchandising, Pricing and Supply Chain systems.

· Valuable understanding of cloud, data, integration, AI and automation technologies.

· Experience in solution architecture and technology transformation.

· Strong customer-facing and communication skills.

· Ability to work with both business and technology stakeholders.

· Experience supporting large transformation programs and RFPs.

Preferred

· Experience in grocery or supermarket retail.

· Exposure to platforms such as SAP, Microsoft Azure, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Manhattan Associates or Blue Yonder & POS platforms.

· Retail domain certifications would be an advantage.

· TOGAF 9.x / TOGAF Enterprise Architecture Practitioner Certification
