The role will Support the design and implementation of solutions on public cloud (Specifically either AWS or Azure) in line with the public cloud well architected framework to support the organisation’s cloud strategy. This role will ensure the delivery of robust cloud architecture through hands-on engineering, while uplifting internal capability through documentation, training, and knowledge transfer.

The Cloud

Architect will play a pivotal role in translating strategic cloud requirements into actionable technical designs aligned with enterprise standards and best practices.

Duties of the role

- Support the design and implementation of AWS-based and/or Azure -based architectures, including IAM, networking, compute, storage, identity, and security services.
- Support detailed solution architectures, reference designs, and documentation to guide implementation teams.
- Configure AWS and/or Azure services and infrastructure using best practice approaches, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Collaborate with key stakeholders (platform engineers, security teams, application owners) to ensure solutions are aligned with business needs and compliance requirements.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to cloud deployment, performance, and integration.
- Create technical documentation, runbooks, and operational guides for implemented solutions.
- Provide hands-on training, mentoring,



and capability uplift for internal staff and cross-functional teams.

Skills and Experience required

- 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 5+ years in cloud architecture and solution delivery, predominantly in AWS and/or Azure.
- Deep expertise in core AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, Amazon RDS, Lambda and CloudWatch etc.) or Azure Services (Azure Virtual Machines, Virtual Network (VNet), Microsoft Entra ID and Azure RBAC, Blob Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions, and Azure Monitor etc.).
- Understanding of AWS and/or Azure Landing zone concepts.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation, Terraform or CDK.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automation tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, CodePipeline), and DevOps principles.
- Working in multi-disciplinary teams including security, networks, and application teams.
- Designing and implementing infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK).
- Documenting architecture patterns, configurations, and operational procedures for large-scale cloud environments.
- Providing hands-on technical mentoring or onboarding of internal teams during or after delivery.
- Contributing to cloud governance practices, security reviews, and standards adoption.
