Company Description The Global Muslim Content Summit (GMC Summit) is a purpose-driven, in-person gathering focused on supporting Muslim content creators in today’s digital media landscape. It brings together creators from around the world to gain practical knowledge, strategic insight, and meaningful connections. GMC Summit is not a traditional speaker event; instead, it is a specialized forum dedicated to Muslim media and storytelling.

The summit covers the full journey from content ideation to production and distribution, all grounded in Islamic values and ethical practices. Volunteers help strengthen this ecosystem by enabling impactful, value-driven content creation.

Role Description The Volunteer Committee role is a remote, volunteer opportunity supporting the planning and execution of GMC Summit initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities may include coordinating communications with speakers, partners, and attendees, helping organize digital assets and event materials, and assisting with scheduling and logistics for online and in-person activities. Volunteers may contribute to community outreach, social media coordination, and basic administrative tasks such as documentation and meeting notes.





Committee members collaborate closely with the organizing team, attend virtual planning meetings, and proactively follow up on assigned tasks to ensure smooth summit operations.

Qualifications

- Solid organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet agreed timelines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including comfort with email, messaging platforms, and virtual meeting tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a remote, multicultural team environment, showing reliability and accountability.
- Familiarity with basic digital tools (e.g., Google Workspace or Microsoft Office, project management or scheduling apps) is beneficial.
- Interest in digital media, storytelling, and Muslim content ecosystems, with alignment to Islamic values and ethical conduct.
- Prior experience in event coordination, community organizing, or volunteer work is an asset but not required.
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute ideas to improve processes and participant experience.
