We’re looking for a hands-on Assistant Manager to join our food and beverage team, working across Birdrock Bar & Grill, hotel breakfast, and events.

Reporting to the Hotel leadership team, you’ll lead service, coordinate staff and take responsibility for making sure each shift runs smoothly. You’ll also lead the Birdrock bar offering, with a strong focus on cocktails, and contribute to team training, stock control and improvements to the way we work.

About the role

- Lead service across our food and beverage areas, staying actively involved on the floor.

- Lead the Birdrock bar offering, including cocktails, and train the team on drinks and service.

- Run pre-shift briefings and coordinate staff during shifts, setting clear expectations for service and presentation.

- Work with the kitchen and events team to deliver conferences, weddings and private functions, including setup and pack down.

- Train and develop team members, building their confidence and practical skills.

- Handle guest feedback and resolve service issues, involving the General Manager when needed.

- Manage stocktakes, ordering and cost control, with a focus on reducing wastage and keeping GP on target.

- Maintain opening and closing procedures, accurate cash handling and organised service areas.





- Uphold food safety, responsible service of alcohol and workplace safety standards.

About you

- Experience in food and beverage operations and leading a team.

- Robust cocktail knowledge and a genuine interest in building a standout bar.

- Strong restaurant and bar service skills, with hotel or functions experience an advantage.

- Confident making decisions during service and keeping the team organised.

- Approachable and reliable, with transparent communication and good attention to detail.

- Willing to take responsibility, support your colleagues and follow through.

- Keen to contribute ideas and develop your hospitality career.

- Current NSW RSA and availability for a rotating roster, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
