The Team

We are proud to have a strong Class Actions presence nationally, assisting clients to secure justice in some of the nation's most prominent Class Actions, including the Stolen Wages and Stolen Generations class actions, the Ruby Princess class action and the Worley Ltd shareholder class action. The team is led by an experienced and highly regarded Head of Class Actions, and assisted by a talented and dedicated team of Practice Leaders, Special Counsels, Senior Associates and other legal professionals.

The Opportunity

In response to increased demand to secure resolutions for our deserving clients, this is an excellent prospect for a Solicitor to join our Class Actions team working on social justice, human rights and discrimination-based matters.

Whether you’ve come from defendant or plaintiff practice, you will have the opportunity to take a supporting role on prominent cases, including contributing to case operations, participating in e-discovery reviews and preparing evidence.

Reporting to an experienced Senior Associate, you’ll truly champion our clients by:

- Supporting the conduct of multiple class actions, effectively delegating to law clerks and paralegals to deliver on discrete tasks towards these class actions.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and class action group members, providing regular and effective communication whilst managing expectations.
- Following Shine's key case management processes to help deliver tasks in full and on time, and support more junior team members to do the same.
- Drafting high-quality legal documents in a timely manner.

What you’ll bring. To thrive in this role,



you will have:

- Current practising certificate.
- 1-2+ years post-admission experience
- Experience in class actions, in either a pre-admission or post-admission capacity, is desirable.
- Significant experience as a solicitor across commercial litigation matters and/or class action matters.
- Strong legal analytical skills, research skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with and manage large volumes of complex documents and reports.
- A commitment to truly connect with those around you and work together to deliver exceptional results for our clients.
- The passion, motivation and enthusiasm to contribute to our culture and ensure it’s a place where everyone can thrive.
