KJR is seeking an experienced Senior Test Automation Engineer to join a major technology transformation project within the public transport sector in Queensland.

This is an exciting chance to contribute to a large-scale Smart Ticketing initiative, developing and maintaining robust, scalable and reusable automation solutions across web applications, APIs, databases and reporting platforms.

You'll work closely with business stakeholders, Test Leads and technical teams to deliver high-quality automation solutions supporting complex enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Robot Framework, Playwright and Python.
- Develop automated tests across web applications, REST APIs, databases and reporting systems.
- Build reusable automation components and implement data-driven testing using Excel, CSV and JSON.
- Perform backend data validation and reconciliation using SQL.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for complex end-to-end business workflows.
- Manage automation code using Git and version control.
- Integrate automated testing with Jira for defect tracking and test traceability.
- Analyse automation failures, troubleshoot issues and provide detailed execution reports.
- Collaborate with business SMEs, developers and testing teams to identify automation opportunities and improve testing efficiency.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Minimum 8 years' experience in software testing and test automation.




- Strong hands-on experience with Robot Framework, Playwright and Python.
- Proven experience designing and maintaining reusable test automation frameworks.
- Strong API testing experience, including REST APIs, JSON and authentication.
- Advanced SQL skills and experience validating backend databases.
- Experience with web application automation and complex end-to-end testing.
- Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines and automation execution tools.
- Experience with PowerShell and command-line scripting.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within complex enterprise technology environments.

Highly Desirable

- Experience automating Microsoft Dynamics 365 / CRM applications.
- Experience integrating automation solutions with Jira.
- Previous experience working on large-scale government or enterprise transformation projects.
- Experience automating reporting and data reconciliation processes.
