Make performance count.

Metro Trains Sydney is seeking an experienced Senior Performance Business Partner to lead the day-to-day delivery and assurance of Network Performance Reporting.

Reporting to the Manager Network Performance, you’ll coordinate complex operational and contractual analysis, assure commercially significant outputs and turn performance data into clear, evidence-based advice for internal and external stakeholders.

This is a senior role for someone who can manage competing priorities, lead work through others and move confidently between detailed analysis and the broader commercial position.

Join us in a fixed-term, full time parental leave opportunity based at Tallawong, with flexible working arrangements available.

What You’ll Do

- Lead recurring Performance Reporting and analysis.
- Interpret complex contractual requirements and translate them into quantitative analysis, modelling and practical business outcomes.
- Lead analysis of major disruptions, emerging performance risks and operational scenarios.
- Review and assure complex analytical models, KPI calculations and Service Payment Claims.
- Oversee Service Change Notices and Service Level Adjustment Amounts.
- Translate complex analysis into clear advice and stakeholder communications.
- Coordinate inputs from analysts and operational, Legal and Commercial stakeholders.
- Maintain quality and delivery across multiple competing deadlines.

- Build effective relationships with senior internal stakeholders, clients and other external stakeholders.

About You

Desired Skills and Experience You combine analytical depth, commercial judgement and strong delivery leadership. You’ll bring:

- experience leading complex performance, commercial or contractual analysis;
- demonstrated ability to interpret complex contracts or performance regimes and translate them into quantitative analysis and commercial insights;
- advanced Excel and analytical modelling skills, including the ability to interrogate, validate and troubleshoot complex, interconnected models;
- experience reviewing and assuring detailed analysis and calculations;
- confidence coordinating people and specialist inputs under tight deadlines;
- strong stakeholder management and communication skills; and
- sound judgement when dealing with operational, contractual and financial risk.

Experience in rail, transport, infrastructure or another complex operational or safety-regulated environment will be highly regarded. Why join us?

This is more than a reporting role. You’ll work on issues with real operational and commercial significance, turning complex network performance into clear insights that support better decisions and outcomes.
