SkyDB is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join a major Australian Government technology programme. This is an prospect for an experienced technical professional who enjoys building high-quality software, solving complex engineering challenges and guiding development teams towards successful delivery.

You’ll play a key role in designing, developing and delivering secure, scalable enterprise applications while contributing to technical decisions, engineering standards and continuous improvement.

We’re particularly interested in professionals who combine strong hands-on development skills with technical leadership experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Lead the design, development and delivery of complex enterprise software applications.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to software development teams.
- Design scalable, secure and maintainable software solutions.
- Oversee software development activities, including coding, testing, integration and deployment.
- Lead technical design reviews and recommend improvements to software architecture.
- Manage software releases, production deployments and ongoing application support.




- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues across development and production environments.
- Drive improvements in coding standards, development practices and CI/CD processes.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, business analysts and stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
- Ensure solutions meet security, quality and organisational standards.

What We’re Looking ForWe’re interested in candidates with:

- Extensive experience in software engineering and enterprise application development.
- Demonstrated experience leading software development projects or technical teams.
- Strong hands-on programming, software design and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience designing complex applications, components and enterprise systems.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, architecture and secure coding practices.
- Experience with systems integration, automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of release management, deployment processes and production support.
- Ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into practical software solutions.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and technical leadership skills.

Technical Skills That Will Make You Stand OutExperience with one or more of the following technologies will be highly regarded:

- SAP S/4HANA
- SAP UI5 / Fiori
- SAP ABAP
- Angular




- Node.js
- Enterprise systems integration
- CI/CD and deployment automation
- Software architecture and system design
- Automated testing frameworks

Previous experience within Australian Government agencies or large enterprise environments will also be highly regarded.
