Database Engineer/Administrator

Initial 3 months contract

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join a high-performing technology team supporting critical enterprise database environments. This is an excellent opportunity for a database qualified with strong expertise across SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and cloud-based database platforms to contribute to the stability, performance, and security of business-critical systems.

Required Skills & Experience

- Strong hands-on experience administering and supporting SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Azure SQL Database environments.
- Demonstrated experience in database design, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security management.
- Strong knowledge of high-availability architectures, replication, clustering, and disaster recovery practices.
- Experience managing databases in cloud environments,



including Microsoft Azure and AWS RDS.
- Advanced SQL development skills, including query optimisation, indexing strategies, and stored procedure development.
- Experience monitoring database health, capacity planning, and performance analysis.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable

- Experience with database automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, or similar).
- Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code principles.
- Relevant Microsoft, PostgreSQL, AWS, or cloud certifications.
