About the Role

As a result of an internal promotion, we are on the hunt for our next Category Manager to join our team at our Eagle Farm site. As the Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining product ranges across key brands and categories. You will identify key development opportunities formed from innovation and trends and will drive the development and on time delivery of relevant product ranges across the outdoor brand portfolio.

Reporting to the Senior Category Manager, you will be a key member of the Outdoor Category Team ensuring consistent and accurate communication across to the Digital, Brand and Sales teams as well as retail customers.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

- Drive and lead key product development from initial concept, development, testing, production and marketing.
- Strong focus on both local ANZ market as well as identifying key international markets for growth.
- Deliver product and consumer presentations to key stakeholders.
- Work with the Marketing team to develop marketing objectives and plans for products and ranges
- Work directly with Sourcing team and key suppliers to ensure cost competitiveness, adequate quality control, on time delivery and other key KPIs
- Ensure products meet relevant local and international product compliance standards and documentation.
- Travel to China annually to visit suppliers and factories with the sourcing team.
- Manage and set product pricing for category
- Collaborate with Marketing and Sales teams with Trade shows and presentations.




- Prepare category reporting and provide analysis to relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure Sales team are adequately resourced with product information.
- Manage and foster customer and vendor relationships and work with sourcing team to manage price negotiations.
- Attend periodic camp outs (day shoots and overnight) to assist marketing and content team on product shoots.
- Work closely with the Logistics, Warehouse and Finance teams.

About You

As the new Category Manager you will possess:

- Knowledge of the ANZ outdoor recreation and leisure industry, understanding of key global markets would be an advantage
- An engaging communication style and positive influencing skills
- A genuine interest in the outdoor market
- Experience in building strong supplier/factory relationships
- Strong ability to negotiate, coordinate and facilitate performance outcomes
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft office suite
- Ability to manage product and ranges through life cycle from launch to exit
- Strong understanding of ANZ retail and digital market place with an ability to strategically manage cross channel
- Experience working with an ERP system and undertaking reporting/category analysis
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills to interpret inventory performance and market trend information
