About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Baker to join our team in Melrose Park, South Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of bakery products while maintaining consistent quality and efficient daily production.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect bakery equipment and work areas for hygiene and safety.
- Check the quality and freshness of baking ingredients.
- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.
- Knead and prepare dough for fermentation and baking.
- Divide, mould and shape dough for bakery products.
- Prepare pastry mixtures, fillings and other ingredients.
- Operate dough mixers, rollers and shaping machinery.
- Monitor oven temperatures and adjust baking times.
- Coordinate baking, unloading and cooling of products.
- Apply glazes, toppings and finishes to baked goods.
- Inspect finished products for quality and consistency.
- Clean and prepare baking trays, tins and equipment.
Skills and Experience
- Relevant qualification in Baking (Certificate III or equivalent) or relevant industry experience.
- Practical experience in dough preparation, fermentation and baking techniques.
- Ability to operate commercial bakery equipment safely.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and workplace safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
