Lead the sustainment and operational support of complex Defence communications and mission systems across Australia.

Your current role

As the Operational Maintenance & Support Manager, you will lead the delivery of integrated support, maintenance, logistics and field service activities for a major Defence capability programme.

You will be responsible for maintaining the safety, availability, reliability and operational readiness of fixed and deployable communications infrastructure, simulation and training systems, and associated mission systems.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Leading end-to-end operational maintenance and support delivery across complex Defence systems
- Managing scheduled, preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance activities
- Leading a multidisciplinary team across ILS, maintenance and field service
- Coordinating technical support across operational Defence sites
- Managing system failures, fault resolution and incident escalation
- Driving performance against budgets, contractual KPIs and SLAs
- Acting as a key interface with Commonwealth Defence stakeholders
- Overseeing ILS, sparing, inventory, repairable items and obsolescence
- Supporting system upgrades, engineering changes and capability enhancements
- Driving continuous improvement across sustainment operations

What you'll need to succeed What you'll need to succeed

- Multiple years experience managing operational maintenance,



sustainment or support services within complex Defence environments
- Experience supporting communications, command and control, mission systems, simulation or training capabilities
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams
- Strong understanding of Defence sustainment and ILS
- Experience managing field service operations and geographically dispersed teams
- Strong Commonwealth Defence customer and stakeholder engagement experience
- Experience working within Defence contracts and service-level agreements
- Knowledge of RAM principles and maintenance management systems such as CAMM2
- Relevant tertiary qualifications

NV1 Australian Government Defence Security Clearance.
