Council Greenkeeper

Are you an experienced greenkeeper with a background in sports field and turf maintenance? This is a great opportunity to join the Council's sports fields team, maintaining parks, ovals, sports fields and turf wickets across the local area.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and maintaining sports fields, ovals, parks and turf wickets
- Turf renovation and general green keeping duties
- Operating ride-on/out-front mowers, rollers, edgers and brush cutters
- Inspecting and maintaining playing surfaces
- Identifying hazards and reporting equipment faults
- Using hand tools and other turf-maintenance plant and equipment
- Assisting with general park and amenity maintenance
- Working as part of an experienced sports field team

What you'll need

- Qualification in Green keeping, Horticulture or a related field
- Chemical Users Accreditation Certificate or equivalent
- Current Class C Driving Licence




- Previous sports field preparation and maintenance experience
- Experience operating turf-maintenance machinery
- Strong understanding of WHS and safe work practices
- Ability to work effectively within a team

Highly regarded
- MR Driving Licence
- Tractor and ride-on mower experience
- Turf wicket or golf course maintenance experience
- Previous local government experience
