Hays Recruitment is partnering with a well-established construction business to recruit an experienced Project Manager for a permanent opportunity based in the Hobart region. The organisation has a strong focus on relationships, integrity, safety and quality and is seeking an experienced construction professional to play a key role within their team.

Your new role

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will lead complex commercial construction projects from initial tender and estimating through to completion. This senior position combines hands-on project delivery with estimating and commercial oversight, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

- Leading the planning, estimating and delivery of complex commercial construction projects
- Preparing and overseeing tenders, estimates and cost plans
- Managing budgets, programmes, cost control and commercial risk
- Managing client and stakeholder relationships throughout the project life cycle
- Overseeing contract interpretation, negotiation and compliance
- Providing commercial and technical input into tenders, procurement and programming
- Leading project handovers and driving a collaborative approach to delivery
- Mentoring project and estimating team members
- Ensuring compliance with quality, health, safety and environmental requirements.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be an experienced construction professional with a strong background in project management, or an experienced site manager looking to progress your career. Ideally,



you will have demonstrated experience delivering complex construction or infrastructure projects valued above $10 million, together with solid commercial knowledge and an understanding of construction contracts and tendering processes.

You will also bring:

- Relevant qualifications in construction, project management, estimating or a related discipline
- Strong programming, planning and commercial skills
- Experience reading plans, specifications and technical drawings
- Strong client and stakeholder management skills
- Sound knowledge of estimating and project management software
- Strong numeracy, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Current driver's licence and White Card.
