About the opportunity
Sharp & Carter is partnering with a well established national business to appoint a Senior Operations Manager to lead one of its key operations in Brisbane’s south.
This is a rapid paced FMCG distribution environment supplying a large customer base. Volumes are high, the pace is quick, and the customer relies on the operation getting it right every day. The business is growing, and the operation is entering a period where strong leadership will shape the team and its results for years to come.
This role suits a hands on leader who enjoys pace and people, and who does their best work out on the floor. If you’ve run a large retail store, a busy distribution centre or a high volume FMCG site, you’ll be equipped to take on this opportunity.

About the role
Reporting into senior operations leadership, you’ll own the day to day performance of the operation and lead a large, diverse workforce. You’ll be the visible leader on site, setting the standard for safety, service and culture.
Key responsibilities include:

- Leading the site’s daily operations to deliver safely, on time and in full
- Leading, coaching and developing frontline leaders, supervisors and support staff
- Building an engaged, high performing team culture across a diverse workforce
- Managing key customer relationships through regular face to face contact
- Driving safety leadership and a strong compliance culture
- Monitoring cost, productivity and service performance, and acting on the numbers
- Managing workforce planning, rostering and labour efficiency at scale
- Working with employee representatives and managing industrial relations matters




- Partnering with internal stakeholders and contractors to deliver results
- Contributing to continuous improvement and the wider growth of the business

About you
You’re a people leader first. You walk the floor, build rapport quickly and earn respect through how you show up. You’re comfortable making decisions under pressure, and you stay calm when the day doesn’t go to plan.
You’ll bring:

- Senior operations leadership experience in FMCG, retail, distribution or logistics
- A proven track record of leading large frontline teams
- Experience leading through other leaders and building team capability
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of cost drivers
- Experience working within enterprise agreements and managing industrial relations
- Confidence managing demanding customers and senior stakeholders
- A hands on, energetic style and comfort in a busy operational environment
- Flexibility to work a shared weekend roster as part of the senior team
