Role Description The Project Estimator is a full-time hybrid role based in Melbourne, VIC, with flexibility for some work from home. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for restoration and remediation projects, including site assessments, scope definition, and material and labor calculations. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing project documentation, liaising with project managers, insurers, and clients, and updating estimates as project requirements evolve. The Project Estimator will analyze bids, quotations,



and supplier pricing, ensure estimates align with budget and compliance requirements, and support project planning and scheduling. The role also involves maintaining detailed records, contributing to continuous improvement in estimating processes, and supporting clear communication across internal teams and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

- Robust skills in Project Estimation and Construction Estimating, with experience preparing detailed cost breakdowns for restoration or construction projects.
- Proficiency in Cost Management and Budgeting to track project expenses, control costs, and support financial decision-making.
- Effective Communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with clients, insurers, builders, and internal teams, and present estimates clearly.
- Experience with estimating software and MS Excel or similar tools for calculations, data analysis, and reporting.
- Relevant qualifications in construction, quantity surveying, engineering, project management, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of restoration, remediation, or building industry standards and compliance requirements is highly beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work environment.
