We're seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team and take responsibility for the successful delivery of our civil construction projects.

About the Role

This is a senior, hands-on position suited to an experienced civil construction professional who is confident managing projects from commencement through to completion.

You'll take ownership of project delivery, including programming, budgets, contract administration, subcontractor management, client relationships and overall project performance.

Working closely with our Site Supervisors, Engineers and construction teams, you'll be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, profitably and to the required standards.

We're looking for someone with strong technical and commercial knowledge who can make decisions, manage challenges and keep projects moving without needing constant direction.

Key Responsibilities

- Take full responsibility for the planning, management and successful delivery of civil construction projects.

- Manage project budgets, forecasts, cash flow and overall financial performance.

- Develop, monitor and manage construction programs to achieve project milestones.

- Oversee contract administration, including progress claims, variations, extensions of time and subcontractor claims.

- Lead and coordinate Project Engineers, Site Supervisors, subcontractors and construction crews.

- Manage plant, labour, materials and subcontractor resources to maximise project efficiency.





- Identify and manage project risks, contractual obligations and commercial opportunities.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, developers and other stakeholders.

- Oversee procurement, subcontractor engagement and supplier management.

- Ensure construction activities comply with project specifications, contractual requirements and relevant standards.

- Monitor project productivity, costs and margins, identifying opportunities to improve performance.

- Resolve construction challenges and contractual issues with practical, commercially sound solutions.

- Maintain oversight of project quality, safety and environmental requirements.

- Provide regular project reporting to senior management, including progress, financial performance and potential risks.

- Manage project completion, handover, defects and final account negotiations.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager who understands civil construction from both an operational and commercial perspective.

You'll be a confident leader who takes ownership of project outcomes, communicates effectively and knows how to deliver profitable projects while maintaining quality and strong client relationships.

Ideally, you'll have:

- Significant experience managing civil construction projects, preferably within a civil contracting business.

- A proven track record delivering land subdivisions, road construction,



bulk earthworks or civil infrastructure projects.

- Strong commercial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, quality compliance and contract administration.

- Demonstrated experience managing projects independently from commencement through to completion.

- Sound knowledge of civil construction methodologies, specifications and contractual requirements.

- Experience leading site teams, coordinating subcontractors and managing project resources.

- Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.

- The ability to identify risks, resolve issues and make sound commercial decisions.

- A proactive, organised and results-driven approach to project management.

- A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline will be highly regarded.

- A current driver's licence.

Experience with civil construction management systems such as Varicon will be advantageous.
