The Clem Jones Centre is seeking a motivated and reliable Assistant Pool Plant Operator to join our team and help maintain one of South East Queensland’s largest and most respected sporting and aquatic facilities.

About the Role

This is a role where your work genuinely matters behind the scenes

Reporting to the Pool Plant Operator, this role plays a critical part in ensuring our aquatic facilities remain safe, clean, compliant, and operating at the highest standard.

You will be responsible for:

- Monitoring and maintaining pool water quality and chemical balance

- Operating and maintaining pool plant equipment including pumps, filters, chlorinators and heaters

- Conducting daily inspections and preventative maintenance

- Preparing swimming facilities prior to opening

- General facilities maintenance and handyman duties

- Managing pool cleaning equipment and facility presentation

- Identifying and responding to safety hazards and maintenance issues





- Working with contractors and external trades where required

- Supporting workplace health and safety compliance

- Providing exceptional customer service to patrons and members

This position is a 5 day week from Sunday – Thursday. Hours will be:

- Sunday 4.00am – 8.00am

- Monday 2.00am – 10.00am

- Tuesday - Thrusday 7.00am – 3.00pm

About You

The following would be highly regarded:

- Pool Plant Operator qualification (or willingness to obtain)

- Experience working in pool operations, facilities maintenance, trades or similar environments

- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

- Pool Lifeguard Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

- Current Driver’s Licence

- Knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety practices
