Westfill is looking for experienced Underground HV Electricians. You will report to the Underground Electrical Supervisor and be responsible for electrical maintenance, testing, inspections, breakdowns, and installations within an underground operation, and work closely with operations and site management.

ESSENTIALS - to be successful in this role:

- Qualifications: Trade qualified, A-Grade Electrical License recognized in WA (essential) and a current WA High Voltage Switching Ticket (desirable).
- Non-negotiable Underground Experience: 1+ years' underground mining experience as an underground electrician, with a deep understanding of underground safe systems of work.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of underground power distribution networks, substations, switchgear, and electrical systems on mobile equipment (loaders, trucks, and drill rigs).
- WA Legislation: Solid understanding of WA Mining Legislation as it applies to electrical compliance and statutory testing.
- Communication Style: A direct, practical communicator who earns the respect of crews and works seamlessly with supervisors, clients, and management.
- Reliability: a practical reliable operator who can be trusted to show up, run their day and work efficiently unsupervised
- Site Readiness:



Current C class Manual Driver licence, a National Police Clearance (valid within the last 6 months), and the ability to pass a full pre-employment mining medical (including drug and alcohol screening).

THE JOB - what is expected:

- HV Distribution: Plan, oversee, and conduct preventative maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs on underground and surface HV substations and transformers.
- Fleet Support: Drive availability and reliability by troubleshooting electrical faults on underground loaders, trucks, drill rigs, and pumping systems.
- Data & Backlog Management: Utilize Pronto to accurately track equipment downtime, manage the electrical maintenance backlog, and report component reliability clearly to management.
- Safety Leadership: Lead a solid safety culture from the front—owning the isolation process, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring strict adherence to strict electrical safety protocols.
- Team Development: Help coach and mentor apprentices or trade assistants on site, contributing to a high-performing maintenance team.
