Security Manager – Pre-Opening Luxury Hotel

Elizabeth Quay Hotel is seeking a professional and experienced Security Manager to lead our Security team ahead of the opening of Perth’s newest luxury hotel. Previous hotel security experience is essential.

About the Role

As Security Manager, you will establish and lead the hotel’s security operations, creating a safe, secure and welcoming environment for guests, visitors and team members across the hotel and associated facilities.

You will oversee the recruitment, training and management of the Security team, develop security procedures and emergency response plans, and manage day-to-day security operations. This is a hands-on, guest-focused leadership role requiring sound judgement, discretion and a calm approach under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

- Establish security operations for the hotel’s opening, including procedures, reporting systems, emergency response plans and team training.

- Recruit, lead and develop Security Officers, ensuring high standards of service, presentation and professionalism.

- Manage security rosters, staffing coverage and departmental costs in line with operational requirements and approved budgets.

- Oversee patrols of public areas, back-of-house areas, car parks and surrounding premises.

- Oversee CCTV, alarms, access-control systems, key control and contractor access.

- Identify security risks, conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate preventative measures.

- Lead the response to incidents, emergencies and security concerns, liaising with emergency services when required.

- Manage incident investigations,



evidence gathering and accurate, confidential reporting.

- Coordinate security arrangements for events, functions, bars, restaurants and group arrivals and departures.

- Work closely with Front Office, Engineering and other operational teams on guest safety, fire safety and emergency preparedness.

- Coordinate emergency drills and security awareness training for hotel team members.

- Establish effective working relationships with guests, contractors, external security providers, police and emergency services.

- Safeguard hotel property and assets while managing sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.

- Maintain security records, review incident trends and recommend improvements to hotel management.

- Provide operational leadership across a 24/7 hotel setting, with flexibility to work evenings, overnight shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.

Skills and Experience

- Previous hotel security experience is essential, with demonstrated experience in a Security Manager or senior security leadership role.

- Experience in a luxury hotel is highly regarded.

- Hotel pre-opening experience is an advantage.

- A current WA Security Officer Licence is essential.





- A current First Aid Certificate is highly regarded.

- Demonstrated experience managing security teams, rosters, training and departmental costs.

- Strong knowledge of hotel security operations, incident management, emergency response and security systems.

- Excellent communication, customer-service and report-writing skills.

- Proven ability to manage challenging situations calmly, professionally and discreetly.

- Strong leadership, sound judgement and attention to detail.

- A guest-focused approach and the ability to balance effective security with a welcoming luxury hotel experience.
