Above-award pay for the right candidate:
- 3rd or 4th year apprentice: $60,000–$75,000 + super
- Recently trade-qualified carpenter with up to 3 years’ experience: $90,000–$105,000 + super
All Trades Australia is looking for an early-career carpentry professional who wants to grow into a well-rounded builder and, potentially, a developer-builder.
You’ll work on luxury Class 1 and 2 residential projects in some of Sydney’s most sought-after suburbs. You’ll work directly with an involved developer-builder who is also a qualified carpenter, gaining insight into both how projects are built and how they’re managed and funded.
Two pathways, one opportunity
We’re open to hearing from either:
- A capable third or fourth year carpentry apprentice; or
- A recently trade-qualified carpenter with up to three years’ post-qualification experience.
The role and level of responsibility will reflect your skills and experience.
About the role
You’ll carry out a broad range of carpentry and building work, which may include:
- Structural framing, fix-out and joinery
- General carpentry and residential building work
- Preparing work areas and materials for other trades
- Helping plan and organise daily site tasks
- Working alongside and helping guide two capable apprentices
- Using a wide range of tools and equipment provided for the work
You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of work as your skills develop, with support and guidance on site.
Learn how building and development work
This is a chance to learn directly from a hands-on developer-builder—not just the practical construction work, but also how residential projects are planned, managed and financed.
Depending on the work and your development, you’ll gain exposure to:
- Trade coordination, project sequencing and site management
- Estimating, budgeting and cost control
- Project feasibility and development decisions
- Cash flow and project funding
- The practical experience and qualifications relevant to pursuing a NSW builder licence
For someone with the ambition to become a builder-developer, this role offers a close-up view of the work and decisions involved. Licensing eligibility depends on meeting the applicable NSW experience, qualification and other requirements.
About you
You’ll be a valuable fit if you:
- Are a third or fourth year carpentry apprentice, or recently trade-qualified with up to three years’ experience
- Have sound skills in framing, fix-out, joinery or related carpentry work
- Take pride in quality workmanship and want to keep learning
- Are reliable, organised and ready to take increasing responsibility
- Are interested in progressing toward a career in residential building and development
Remuneration
The above-award salary will depend on your pathway, skills and capability:
- Apprentice: $60,000–$75,000 + super
- Trade-qualified carpenter: $90,000–$105,000 + super
Immediate start available for the right candidate.
To apply, tell us whether you’re an apprentice or trade-qualified, your current apprenticeship stage or years of post-qualification experience, the carpentry work you’ve done, your availability and your longer-term career goals.
