Armstrong Flooring is one of Australia’s oldest and leading distributors of hard flooring for both commercial and residential markets. The Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented finance professional to join our Finance team. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure across internal auditing, financial reporting, management accounting, and accounts payable functions.
This position is ideal for someone looking to further develop their career in finance and internal audit within a team-oriented and supportive environment. You will work closely with key stakeholders across the business to review processes, identify opportunities for improvement, strengthen internal controls, and support the accuracy and integrity of financial information.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning, execution and reporting of internal audits across various business functions.
- Review financial and operational processes to identify risks, control weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
- Support compliance activities and monitor adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Assist with management accounting activities, including monthly reporting, reconciliations and analysis.
- Provide support to the Accounts Payable function as required.
- Prepare audit documentation, findings and recommendations in a clear and professional manner.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to implement process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and projects as directed by the Financial Controller.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
- 1-3 years' experience in audit, accounting, finance or a similar role.
- Progress towards a CPA qualification, or an intention to commence CPA studies, will be viewed favourably.
- Experience in a manufacturing and wholesale distribution environment will be highly regarded
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to interpret financial information and identify trends or discrepancies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn and develop.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
