About the role

Miller & Co Electrical is seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrical Technician to join our growing team. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to develop your electrical expertise whilst working on diverse projects across high end residential and commercial. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality electrical solutions to our valued clients, contributing directly to the success and reputation of our business. You will work on-site at various locations around the bayside area, inner city and northeast Melbourne.

Key responsibilities

- Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in accordance with Australian electrical standards and safety regulations

- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to complete assigned tasks accurately

- Conducting routine inspections and testing of electrical installations to ensure compliance and safe operation

- Troubleshooting electrical faults and diagnosing problems using appropriate testing equipment and diagnostic tools

- Assisting qualified electricians with the installation of wiring, circuit breakers, switchboards, and other electrical components

- Maintaining accurate documentation of work completed, including job reports and safety records

- Adhering to all health and safety requirements and best practice standards on all work sites

- Supporting the team to deliver projects on time and within budget whilst maintaining the highest quality standards

- Building positive relationships with clients and colleagues through professional and courteous behaviour





What we're looking for

- A recognised electrical trade qualification or apprenticeship completion

- Current electrical licence or registration as required under Victorian regulations

- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations including the Australian Electrical Safety Standards

- Proficiency in using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, insulation testers, and circuit analysers

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Solid communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

- A valid driver's licence and reliable transport

- A commitment to health and safety practices and the ability to work safely in various environments

- Physical fitness and the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces where required

- Preferred: Experience in a variety of commercial or industrial electrical installations; knowledge of renewable energy systems or smart home technology
