We are seeking an experienced, practical and people-focused HR Generalist to support the day-to-day human resources operations of our busy general practice medical centres.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with management and staff, has strong organisational skills and can confidently manage a broad range of HR responsibilities.

Experience in healthcare is advantageous but not essential.

About the Role

Working closely with management, you will oversee the day-to-day HR functions of the practice, ensuring our staff are supported, appropriately trained and equipped to perform their roles effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Rostering and Workforce Management

- Prepare and maintain reception and nursing rosters.

- Manage leave requests, roster amendments and unexpected staffing changes.

Contracts and Employment Documentation

- Prepare and maintain employment contracts, GP service agreements and associated documentation.

- Manage contract renewals, amendments and annual remuneration changes.

- Monitor professional registrations, insurance and continuing professional development requirements for doctors and nurses.

Recruitment and Onboarding

- Coordinate recruitment of nursing and reception staff as required.

- Prepare employment documentation and support new staff through onboarding.

- Facilitate staff induction and training on workplace procedures and expectations.

Performance and Staff Development

- Coordinate annual performance reviews and regular staff check-ins.

- Support performance improvement and capability development.

- Identify training needs and coordinate professional development opportunities.

- Organise CPR, infection control, triage and other required staff training.

Staff Support and Case Management





- Manage patient complaints requiring HR or staff-related follow-up.

- Assist with staff conflict resolution and performance concerns.

- Provide practical guidance and support to management and staff in handling workplace issues.

Workplace Health and Safety

- Coordinate the management and documentation of workplace incidents.

- Assist with return-to-work plans for injured employees.

- Support a safe, compliant and supportive working environment.

About You

We are looking for someone who brings practical experience and confidence to the role, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with management and staff.

You will ideally have experience in:

- Recruitment and workforce supply.

- Case management involving health, attendance or performance matters.

- Performance development and capability management.

- Learning and development, including career development.

- Workplace health and safety.

- Managing competing priorities, maintaining accurate records and following tasks through to completion.

The ideal candidate will be:

- Experienced in hands-on HR generalist work, not just academically qualified.

- Highly organised, proactive and detail oriented.

- Approachable, professional and confident when dealing with sensitive matters.

- An effective communicator with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

- Discreet and able to maintain confidentiality.

- Comfortable working in a dynamic healthcare environment and adapting to changing priorities.
