The Accounts Clerk is responsible for supporting the productive operation of the GRAMS Finance Department through the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and receivable, reconciliation of financial records, processing of payments and maintenance of financial information. The position works closely with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure financial transactions are processed in accordance with GRAMS policies and procedures.

The occupant of this position will be expected to comply with and demonstrate a positive commitment to the highest level of achievement in Equal Employment Chance, Work Health & Safety, the GRAMS Code of Conduct, Continuous Quality Improvement, Performance Management, Customer Focus and Confidentiality throughout the course of their duties.

ESSENTIAL:

• Demonstrated experience in an accounts, bookkeeping or similar finance-related role.

• Experience using computerised accounting and financial systems.

• Demonstrated ability to accurately process and maintain financial records.





• Sound numerical skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

• Demonstrated organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping or equivalent relevant qualification and/or demonstrated experience.

DESIRABLE:

• Experience with Xero Accounting Software.

• Further qualifications or experience in accounting, finance or bookkeeping.

• Previous experience working in a health, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation or not-for-profit workplace.

• Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and the ability to work respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal people and communities
