About the role

Reporting to the MD & CEO, you'll drive Axiant's exploration strategy and provide expert technical leadership to generate, prioritise and test worthy targets. You'll lead and develop a small, hands-on exploration team that convert budget into discovery while playing a key role in acquisitions and commercial assessment of projects.

We will consider experienced Exploration Manager's and highly skilled candidates ready to step up with solid support.

Key responsibilities
Set the exploration strategy and lead the technical team across geology, geochemistry and geophysics
Own the target pipeline, generate, rank and drill-test targets
Get in the field, design and run programs that turn dollars into discovery and resource growth
Build the team: lead, mentor and grow a small, high-calibre team of exploration geologists
Report as Competent Person: sign off ASX exploration results under JORC (MRE CP experience a plus)
Own the approvals: tenure, heritage, land access and regulatory compliance
Lead safety from the front: every program delivered safely

About you
10+ years in exploration geology, with strong technical depth and sound judgement
A gold specialist (or skilled geo), orogenic gold expertise, Pine Creek / NT experience highly regarded
A field geologist,



with a hands-on record of leading small, high-performing teams
CP-qualified for Exploration Results (MRE CP a bonus), ASX reporting skills
A track record of discovery, you prioritise well and turn targets into drill results
Safety leadership that people follow
Commercially minded, you know what drives cost and value in exploration
Strong with digital tools, GIS, databases and 3D geological software
