Applied Abilities is seeking compassionate, reliable and experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team. We welcome applications from experienced male and female support workers who are committed to delivering respectful, person-centred care.
You will support participants with daily living activities and social and community participation, adapting your approach to their individual needs, preferences and goals.
Redlands based, servicing Redlands, Logan, Wynnum/Manly and nearby suburbs
Key responsibilities
Assisting with daily living tasks and personal care
Supporting participants to access social activities and their local community
Providing support in line with individual care plans and positive behaviour support plans
Responding appropriately to seizures in accordance with individual epilepsy management plans
Using protected manual handling practices
Promoting participants' choice, dignity and independence
Providing culturally respectful support
About you
You will bring practical disability support experience, solid communication skills and a calm, skilled approach. You understand the importance of building trust and providing consistent, reliable support.
You will need experience and skills in:
Seizure and epilepsy management
Supporting people with autism
Mental health support
Positive behaviour support
Cultural awareness and culturally respectful care
Manual handling
Personal care
Essential requirements
Current Police Clearance
NDIS Worker Screening Card
Working with Children Card
Current driver's license
Access to a fully insured vehicle
