Virtue Engineering is looking for a Workshop Foreman to take charge of the floor. You'll keep production moving, hold the quality bar high, and make sure customers get what they need, when they need it. You'll work directly with the Director, and you'll have a real say in how the workshop runs.
Key responsibilities
Run production: plan the week, allocate jobs to the team, and keep work flowing through the workshop
Own quality: check work against drawings and make sure every job leaves the workshop right the first time
Manage out jobs: organise and follow up work sent to outside suppliers, such as galvanising, coating and heat treatment, so it comes back on time
Look after materials: make sure the right materials are ordered on hand and assigned to each job before it starts
Hit deadlines: keep a close eye on due dates, spot problems early, and make sure jobs are completed when promised
Lead the team: set daily priorities, support the crew, and lend a hand on the tools when it counts
About you
A trade qualification in fabrication or machining (e.g. Cert III in Engineering)
5+ years' workshop experience, with some time as a leading hand or foreman
Confidence reading engineering drawings
Good organisation, and you stay calm when deadlines are tight
A current driver's licence
