Head Housekeeper / Hotel Service Manager

About Us

We are an established accommodation provider in Gladstone with a reputation for clean, comfortable rooms and strong guest reviews. We are looking for an experienced Head Housekeeper / Hotel Service Manager to lead our housekeeping and guest services operations.

The Role

You will oversee the daily running of housekeeping and related hotel services. You will lead a team of [number] staff and make sure our rooms and public areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate and supervise daily housekeeping, laundry and public area operations
Recruit, train, roster and manage housekeeping staff and supervisors
Work with Front Office, Maintenance and Food & Beverage to keep room turnover smooth and guests satisfied
Conduct regular room and property inspections and maintain quality standards
Manage housekeeping budgets, labour costs, linen and cleaning supplies inventory
Handle guest requests and complaints promptly and professionally
Ensure compliance with work health and safety,



hygiene and company policies
Oversee lost property, deep-cleaning schedules and room maintenance reporting
Prepare performance reports and recommend operational improvements

About You
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role in housekeeping or hotel operations
Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a diverse team
Robust understanding of hotel standards, inspections and room-status systems
Experience with budgeting, rostering and inventory control
Working knowledge of property management systems (e.g. Opera, Cloudbeds, Mews)
Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
Ability to work flexible schedule, including weekends and public holidays
Relevant hospitality or business management qualification (desirable)
Current First Aid certificate and RSA (desirable)
