OCRT Consulting is a sovereign, veteran-owned Australian SME delivering professional services across Defence, Government and national security. We’re looking for an NV1-cleared Senior Systems Engineer to support a Defence client with capability definition for a major modernisation program.
The chance:
You’ll join a small, self-directed project team helping shape capability as it moves through Government approval stages. That means planning and developing capability definition documentation, including OCDs, User Need Statements, FPS and the TEMP. You’ll lead risk reduction and requirements-setting activities and engage a broad range of Defence, science and industry stakeholders.
You’ll also derive future requirements from emerging concepts of employment and support tendering and tender evaluation. You’ll mentor a more junior engineer and contribute to program-level artefacts that support strategic Defence outcomes. It’s a 12-month engagement starting mid-December, with options to extend.
What we’re looking for:
Systems engineering qualifications / a minimum of eight years’ experience
Demonstrated experience preparing Capability Life Cycle documentation, including Concepts of Employment and Operational Concept Documents
A positive understanding of the One Defence Capability System
Demonstrated ability to engage with ADF, APS and contractor stakeholders
Experience working in an agile, self-starting team workplace
Capability Manager-level project experience on pre-Gate 2 projects - highly regarded
Knowledge of Defence networking and communications systems - highly regarded
Model-based systems engineering, open architectures, T&E; or enterprise architecture experience - highly regarded
Military experience or exposure to coalition exercises, operations or systems - highly regarded
