Your new role
As the Privacy Specialist, you'll play a key role in delivering a major privacy uplift program, helping to strengthen governance, manage risk and embed best-practice privacy management across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading privacy remediation and compliance initiatives.
Conducting Privacy Impact Assessments and identifying risk mitigation strategies.
Reviewing and enhancing privacy policies, frameworks and procedures.
Providing expert advice on privacy obligations and emerging risks.
Managing privacy incidents, investigations and reporting requirements.
Supporting privacy-by-design principles across projects and business initiatives.
Delivering guidance, training and awareness activities to build organisational capability.
Preparing reports and recommendations for leadership and governance forums.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful,
you'll bring:
Demonstrated experience in privacy, governance, risk, compliance or a related discipline.
Robust knowledge of the Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles.
Experience conducting Privacy Impact Assessments and privacy risk assessments.
A track record of developing or improving privacy frameworks, policies and compliance programs.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
Excellent written communication skills, including policy development and briefing preparation.
Relevant tertiary qualifications with public sector experience are highly regarded.
