Umi Sushi is a well-established Japanese takeaway restaurant located in Glenelg, South Australia, operated by Unique Lee Pty Ltd. We offer a variety of freshly prepared sushi rolls and Japanese-style dishes, focusing on fresh ingredients, consistent food quality and friendly customer service.

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Full time Cook to join our team and contribute to our daily kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of Japanese-style dishes, including sushi, rice dishes and other menu items.
Prepare ingredients, including vegetables, seafood, meat and sushi rice, according to established recipes and food safety standards.
Maintain consistent food quality, taste, presentation and portion sizes.
Monitor ingredient freshness, stock levels and food storage conditions.
Assist with menu planning, food preparation and improving kitchen efficiency.
Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen workplace.




Follow food safety regulations and workplace health and safety procedures.
Coordinate daily food preparation to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and assist with training junior team members when required.

Skills and Experience Required
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent relevant qualification.
Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in a commercial kitchen.
Knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations and food safety standards.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Valuable communication, organisational and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and maintain consistent food quality.
Experience in Japanese or Asian cuisine will be highly regarded.
