About the opportunity:
The Finance Officer's role is to Deliver accurate, timely and efficient operational finance services that support the day-to-day activities of the Finance Operations team, including accounts payable (creditors) and accounts receivable (debtors).
Ensure accounts payable and accounts receivable functions are administered effectively, with a robust focus on proactive debt recovery, arrears reduction and the timely resolution of outstanding accounts.
Build effective working relationships through clear communication, responsive customer service and professional collaboration across the Finance team, Council and external stakeholders.
This position is a fixed term position ending September ****
What you need to be successful:
Certificate III in Business Administration/Financial Management or related field.
Highly developed research, analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability in the advanced application of the Microsoft suite of products, especially Microsoft Excel.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and effectively manage time to meet deadlines.
Previous experience working in a Local Government setting.
Experience with TechnologyOne or other large ERP software.




Ability to demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, judgement, initiative, and sensitivity in the performance of duties and dealings with employees and members of the public.
Commitment to undertaking continuing professional development.
Current Driver's Licence
National Police Check.
