The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Carpenter who can step into a hands-on Site Supervisor role with an established commercial builder based in Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs. The business specialises in commercial refurbishments across schools and commercial facilities, alongside a dedicated make-safe division. With a team of approximately 60 direct employees and projects spanning across Victoria, the company has built a strong presence in the commercial construction sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Carpenter who enjoys being on the tools when required but is also confident coordinating trades, overseeing site activities and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time and to a high standard.
The Position
will initially be offered on a contract basis, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent role for the right person.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise day-to-day site activities across commercial refurbishment projects.
Coordinate subcontractors, trades and site personnel to ensure work is completed efficiently.
Undertake hands-on carpentry work where required.
Ensure projects are delivered safely and in accordance with relevant standards and site requirements.
Monitor project progress, quality and workmanship.
Liaise with project managers, clients and other key stakeholders.
Assist with planning, scheduling and coordinating materials and labour.
Oversee works across school,
commercial and make-safe projects.
Travel to regional Victorian sites when required.
About You
Qualified Carpenter with solid commercial construction experience.
Previous experience supervising sites, leading trades or coordinating projects.
Strong understanding of commercial refurbishments and general building works.
Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example.
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
Reliable, proactive and capable of working independently.
Willingness to travel across Victoria when required.
Current White Card and a valid driver's licence and a working with children's check
