We're partnering with an Australian-owned consumer business that is continuing to invest in its technology environment and modernise the way its people work.
With several key initiatives underway across device management, endpoint modernisation and identity, they're looking for an experienced Modern Workplace Engineer to join their team on an initial 6-month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension.

The Role
Working as part of the Modern Workplace team, you'll play a key role in delivering a range of endpoint and infrastructure initiatives, helping transition the environment towards more modern, cloud-based device management.
You'll combine hands‐on technical delivery with troubleshooting and project work, partnering with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure solutions are implemented effectively and with minimal disruption to end users.
Your responsibilities will include:
GPO to Intune migration: Assessing and migrating traditional Group Policy Objects into modern Microsoft Intune configuration profiles.
Device refresh: Supporting the delivery of enterprise‐wide device refresh initiatives, ensuring a smooth and well‐managed rollout.
Modern device management: Working across Microsoft Intune, Windows device configuration and endpoint management to support a modern workplace environment.
Identity and access: Managing and supporting Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, helping maintain secure and effective identity solutions.
Technical troubleshooting: Providing Level 3 support and resolving complex endpoint, operating system, application deployment and infrastructure issues.
Scripting and automation: Using PowerShell to support administration, troubleshooting and day‐to‐day technical activities.




You'll be joining a collaborative team with a mix of Melbourne‐based and offshore resources.
The environment offers a good balance of project delivery and technical problem‐solving, with the opportunity to contribute to initiatives already underway and further work planned within the Modern Workplace team.
What You Bring To The Role
To be successful, you'll bring a solid infrastructure engineering background, strong Microsoft workplace technology skills and the ability to work independently in a complex corporate environment.
You'll ideally have:
5+ years' experience in IT infrastructure or systems engineering, with exposure to End User Computing (EUC) and modern workplace technologies.
Strong Microsoft Intune experience, including device configuration, policy management and endpoint deployment.
Hands‐on experience migrating Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to Intune, including translating, testing and implementing policies.
Strong Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID experience, supporting enterprise identity and directory services.
Experience working across enterprise or large corporate environments (userbase ****+), understanding the complexity of established systems, processes and stakeholder groups.
Strong troubleshooting and root‐cause analysis skills, with the confidence to take ownership of complex technical issues.
A working understanding of PowerShell scripting and how it can be used to support technical administration and automation.
Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical teams, stakeholders and end users.
Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM), device lifecycle or refresh programs, and Windows Autopilot advantageous.

Initial 6-month contract, with a solid likelihood of extension.
Hybrid working, with 3 days per week in the office.
Immediate start preferred, with candidates on a short notice period also considered.
