Why You Will Be Excited About This Role
This is your opportunity to join an established leader in the protective coatings industry as they continue to grow their Perth operations. You'll be joining All Purpose Coatings at the perfect moment - established national success story with the systems, support, and proven blueprint already in place. You'll have the exciting challenge of continuing to grow the brand presence in the Perth market from a solid foundation, where every customer interaction is an opportunity to build lasting relationships and establish your reputation as the go‐to person in the industry.
Why You Will Like Working Here
As part of a national business with deep expertise in manufacturing and innovation, you'll have the confidence that comes from representing genuinely superior products backed by experienced technical support.
What makes APC different is that you get the best of both worlds: the stability, systems, and support of an established national operation, combined with the energy and opportunity of being part of a relatively new Perth team. You'll work alongside a team who are genuinely passionate about what they do, supported by experienced management who understand what it takes to succeed in trade sales.
You'll also enjoy:
Work‐life balance with Monday to Friday hours – 40 hours per week (7am‐3.30pm or 7.30am – 4pm).
Convenient Canning Vale location with onsite parking.
Career development through comprehensive onboarding, ongoing product training, and opportunities to be involved in customer training courses
Proven systems and processes that set you up for success from day one.
A supportive, fun but business‐focused team culture where success is celebrated and everyone pulls together
What You Will Be Working On
You'll master the technical knowledge that sets apart exceptional trade counter professionals from order‐takers, and you'll build a network of loyal customers who appreciate your expertise and reliability. Your role combines the fast‐paced energy of trade counter service with the satisfaction of building genuine customer relationships.
On any given day, you'll be:
Delivering exceptional face‐to‐face service to walk‐in trade and business customers, becoming the trusted expert they rely on for solutions
Proactively building and nurturing client relationships through regular follow‐ups, outbound calls to new prospects
Managing phone and email enquiries with the same level of expertise and care as your in‐person interactions, processing orders efficiently while identifying opportunities to add value
Applying your growing technical knowledge to help customers select the right products for their specific applications
Contributing to the growth of APC's Perth presence by validating leads, researching opportunities, and taking initiative to expand the customer base
Supporting the efficient operation of the branch through light warehouse duties,
including receiving stock and preparing orders for collection
Eventually assisting with and delivering product training to customers, positioning yourself as an industry expert
You'll report to the Site Manager and work as part of a small, collaborative team where your contributions directly impact branch performance and customer satisfaction. This is a role where your sales drive, customer service excellence, and willingness to learn will be recognised and rewarded.
What Type Of Person Will Be Successful
You're someone who genuinely lights up when helping customers solve problems and who takes pride in building relationships that last. You have an unwavering drive to exceed targets and a natural curiosity that makes you want to understand products deeply so you can provide the best possible advice.
To thrive in this role, you'll bring:
Proven customer service experience where you've consistently delivered exceptional results and built strong customer relationships
A genuine sales mentality - target‐driven, proactive, and not afraid to pick up the phone to follow up on leads or check in with customers
Computer literacy including Outlook, internet, and ability to learn CRM systems quickly
Previous sales, quoting, or trade counter experience highly regarded
Trade background or exposure to the construction/coatings industry (comprehensive product training provided) also highly regarded
Forklift licence advantageous
Enthusiastic and helpful nature, strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a small team
