About the Role
We're looking for a newly created role to manage the lead generation team and partner with Business Development and Account Management to coordinate, support and manage customer opportunities from proposal submission through to award.
The Bid Manager is responsible for ensuring Wasteflex is consistently positioned as a consultative Managed Services provider, with solutions focused on operational efficiency, sustainability outcomes, service excellence and continuous improvement.
This is an exciting opportunity for a customer-focused and commercially astute leader who enjoys building and supporting team capability and being a reliable partner to their customers, proactively solving problems and identifying opportunities that drive value for both the customer and the business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate strategic customer opportunities from proposal submission through to award
Develop compelling customer value propositions, executive summaries and solution narratives
Partner with Business Development Managers and Account Managers to support strategic customer pursuits
Facilitate Go / No-Go reviews and qualification discussions
Coordinate opportunity kick-off meetings and pursuit planning sessions
Manage internal approval processes and submission sign-off requirements
Ensure customer requirements are accurately translated into practical and commercially viable solutions




Monitor opportunity progress and ensure key milestones are achieved
Develop and maintain proposal templates, capability statements, case studies and supporting collateral
Conduct win/loss reviews and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Monitor conversion rates and implement initiatives to improve pursuit performance
Identify opportunities to improve processes, quality and operational efficiency across the bid function
Support revenue growth through improved opportunity execution and conversion outcomes
About You
Proven experience in bid management, proposal management, business development support or a similar commercial role
Strong understanding of consultative selling and solution-based customer engagement
Experience managing complex customer opportunities and competing priorities
Exceptional written communication and proposal development skills
Robust project management and stakeholder engagement capability
Ability to influence and coordinate cross-functional teams
Commercial acumen with the ability to balance customer needs and business outcomes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and PowerPoint
Experience within waste management or business services industries
Understanding of procurement, contract management and customer governance processes
