Vetlink is seeking an experienced equine reproductive veterinarian to join a well-established equine practice for the **** breeding season.
This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian looking to combine reproductive medicine with both hospital-based and ambulatory equine practice while working within a highly skilled and supportive team. The position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced surgical and reproductive specialists in a busy referral and emergency hospital environment.
The practice operates a referral hospital together with several satellite locations servicing a number of stud farms throughout regional Victoria. A significant proportion of the caseload involves reproductive and neonatal medicine during the breeding season, providing an interesting and rewarding role for a veterinarian with experience managing large herds of broodmares and developing strong relationships with stud clients. Alongside stud work, you will provide on-farm neonatal care, general stud medicine, hospital-based equine practice and ambulatory services, supported by experienced clinicians and specialist facilities. Participation in an equally shared after-hours roster is required.

The successful applicant will be confident managing reproductive mares, including live cover and fresh and frozen artificial insemination, and experienced in neonatal care, including high-risk foals and routine neonatal health checks. Applicants should also be capable of providing routine and emergency ambulatory equine services.
The practice offers a competitive salary package together with a fully equipped veterinary vehicle and phone, a generous CPD allowance, membership fees and Victorian veterinary registration, after-hours compensation, and four weeks annual leave with flexible options for additional unpaid leave. As part of a large veterinary group, there are also opportunities to further develop your skills across other equine hospitals within the organisation.
Bendigo offers an outstanding regional lifestyle, combining excellent cafes, restaurants, arts and cultural attractions with beautiful parks, wineries and surrounding countryside. With a welcoming community and Melbourne within easy reach, it provides an ideal balance between qualified fulfilment and quality of life.
