About the role
We are looking for a Finance Officer to join our client, a local council in Eastern Melbourne. This is a part-time, hybrid role with an ASAP start. It's a excellent chance to get hands‐on in a busy finance team, with the potential to move into a permanent position for the right person.
What you'll do
Raise purchase orders and receipt utilities bills in TechOne, making sure each one is coded to the right cost centre and approved before payment
Review utilities bills for anomalies such as unusual usage, duplicate charges or billing errors, and follow them up with suppliers until they're resolved




Complete monthly reconciliations, including utilities accruals and creditor accounts, and investigate any variances
Keep accurate records and supporting documents so month‐end closes smoothly and audit requests are easy to answer
Be the go‐to contact for internal teams and suppliers on utilities queries, responding quickly and keeping everyone updated
About you
Previous experience in local government, public sector, healthcare or education
Tertiary qualification in a relevant field
Minimum 2-3 years in a similar role
TechOne experience highly desirable
