12 Month Fixed Term Accounting Position – NDIS Claims Experience Essential

Hays is partnering with an established, Tasmanian-owned NDIS provider based in Hobart's northern suburbs.
With a strong presence in the disability services sector, the organisation is seeking an experienced Accountant to join its finance team on a part-time basis for a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Your new role
Working three days per week, you'll provide financial accounting support across the organisation, with a particular focus on NDIS claims processing and reconciliation.Your responsibilities will include:
Processing and reconciling NDIS claims
Financial and balance sheet reconciliations
Assisting with month-end financial reporting
Investigating and resolving discrepancies relating to NDIS claims and payments
Maintaining accurate financial records
Supporting the wider finance function as required
Working within Microsoft Dynamics
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you'll be a qualified and experienced accounting professional with a strong financial accounting background.Importantly, previous experience working with NDIS claims is essential for this position.You'll also bring:
Relevant accounting qualifications
Demonstrated financial accounting experience




Strong reconciliation and financial reporting skills
Previous experience processing and reconciling NDIS claims
High attention to detail and the ability to investigate discrepancies
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics would be highly regarded
Strong communication and organisational skills
You'll also be required to hold, or be willing to obtain, an Employee Working with Vulnerable People registration with NDIS Worker Screening endorsement/clearance, along with a current National Police Check.
