This is an excellent opportunity to take the accounting and advisory skills you've developed in practice and apply them within a commercial environment, while gaining broader exposure to business operations and decision-making.Working as part of an established finance team, you will be responsible for financial accounting and reporting across a portfolio of operations.
You'll review work prepared by an offshore accounting team, analyse financial performance and work directly with operational stakeholders and customers.Importantly, this isn't a role where you'll simply sit behind a desk producing accounts.
You'll develop a strong understanding of the businesses you support, build relationships with stakeholders and have the opportunity to travel interstate to meet customers and better understand their operations.What You'll Be DoingYour responsibilities will include:Review accounting work completed by the offshore finance teamReview and analyse monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet accountsComplete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepanciesPrepare and review journals, accruals and prepaymentsAssist with month-end reporting and ensure the integrity of financial informationPrepare and review GST, BAS and IAS requirementsInvestigate financial results, variances and unusual transactionsWork closely with operational and commercial stakeholdersBuild relationships with customers and provide accounting and financial supportAssist with budgeting,



forecasting and financial analysisSupport year-end reporting and external audit requirementsIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controlsTravel interstate periodically to visit customers and build stronger commercial relationshipsAbout YouThis role would particularly suit someone currently working in Business Services or Business Advisory who is keen to make the transition into a commercial accounting position.You will ideally have:Experience within an Australian accounting practiceStrong preparation and/or review experience across financial statementsGood understanding of P&L; and Balance Sheet accountsExperience with GST, BAS and IASStrong reconciliation and analytical skillsConfidence reviewing work and identifying errors or inconsistenciesStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skillsA genuine interest in understanding how businesses operateThe confidence to develop relationships with non-finance stakeholders and customersCA, ACCA, CPA qualification, or currently working towards completionWhy Make the Move?
