ABOUT THE ROLE
As the dedicated finance specialist for the Australian entity, you’ll keep the finances accurate, timely and well organised. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll handle the day-to-day finance function, from AP and AR through to month-end, BAS and statutory reporting. You’ll be the go-to finance person in Sydney, partnering with department managers, external bookkeepers and advisors. This is a great step up for an assistant accountant ready to broaden their remit and improve processes.

DUTIES

- Manage day-to-day AP, AR and oversight of external bookkeepers
- Prepare monthly management accounts, budget variance analysis and key metric reports
- Support GST, PAYG withholding, FBT, payroll tax and BAS lodgements
- Assist with statutory financial statements alongside external auditors and advisors
- Monitor bank accounts and support treasury, including intercompany cash allocation and term deposits
- Partner with department managers and leadership on budgets, cash flow forecasts and projections
- Help prepare payroll for the Australian entity
- Drive process improvements and identify ways to automate routine tasks using AI
- Contribute to right-sized financial policies as the business scales

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- Degree in accounting,



finance or a related field
- Working towards or recently completed CA, CPA or ACCA
- Experience as an assistant accountant or similar, with exposure to AP, AR, month-end and BAS
- Confidence working autonomously, with regular check-ins from a remote manager
- Solid communication skills and a collaborative, easygoing approach
- Openness to AI and automation, and comfort adopting new tools
- Desirable: payroll exposure and experience working with external auditors or bookkeepers
