AustCorp Executive is partnering with a well-established structural steel fabrication and installation business to recruit an experienced Estimator. About the Business
Our client has been fabricating and installing structural steel for nearly 20 years, delivering projects across South East Queensland and Northern NSW. Their steel has gone into some of Brisbane’s best-known commercial and infrastructure projects, as well as hospitals, schools, universities, commercial builds, conveyor galleries, architectural facades and high-end homes. That means real variety, and you won’t be pricing the same work every week.

About the Role
Estimating is the heart of this role. You’ll review drawings and specifications, then prepare accurate estimates, bid packages and proposals that win work. Once a project is won, you’ll stay involved and see it through to completion, working closely with the workshop, the installation manager, subcontractors and clients. Your responsibilities will include:

- Reviewing drawings and specifications and preparing estimates, bid packages and proposals
- Pricing labour, materials, equipment and subcontractors




- Managing RFIs and variations
- Tracking programs and budgets on awarded projects
- Liaising with the workshop, installation team, subcontractors and clients
- Getting out on site to check progress

About You
You’ll ideally bring:

- Solid knowledge of steel construction processes and materials
- Estimating experience within structural steel, fabrication or a related construction trade
- Confidence with Excel and Word
- Strong organisational and negotiation skills
- The ability to stay calm and accurate under tight tender deadlines
- A self-motivated approach and comfort working autonomously in a small team

Experience with fabrication drawing or estimating software will be highly regarded.
