About the Business
Our clients operate a family-owned beef business, breeding, growing, and finishing Angus composite cattle across three properties in South West Queensland.

Their commercial herd is the foundation of the business, alongside their seedstock bull breeding program. They produce certified organic, grass-fed beef and breed fertile, efficient cattle that perform under commercial conditions.
They care deeply about their land, their cattle, and the people they work with. Quiet stock handling, practical management, and attention to detail are part of how they operate every day. They use technology and livestock performance records to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.

The Role
Our clients are looking for an experienced Stationhand to join their team, based at their home property located 50 km northeast of Charleville, and working across all three holdings as required. The successful candidate will work directly with the owners and alongside the Northern Property Manager, contributing to the day-to-day running of the whole business.

The work is varied, combining hands-on cattle work with the maintenance that keeps a station running well. You will need to be comfortable working independently, communicating with the team, and travelling between properties to help with seasonal work.

Your work will include:

- Mustering, drafting, processing, weaning, and moving cattle using quiet, low-stress handling methods.
- Monitoring cattle health and condition, and keeping accurate livestock and treatment records in line with organic and animal welfare requirements.
- Assisting with the seedstock breeding program, bull preparation, performance recording, and sale work.
- Checking and maintaining stock waters, solar pumps,



fences, and other property infrastructure.
- Operating and caring for station vehicles, motorbikes, plant, and machinery.

About You
You take pride in a job done properly, notice when something needs attention, and follow it through. You enjoy working with cattle, treat people with respect, and bring a positive, practical approach to the day.

Requirements:

- At least 3-5 years of practical experience in a commercial beef cattle operation, with sound cattle handling and husbandry skills.
- A commitment to livestock welfare and quiet, low-stress stock handling.
- Practical skills in fencing, stock water maintenance, and general station maintenance.
- Confidence operating two-wheel motorbikes, quad bikes, side-by-sides, and station machinery.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with transparent communication and reliable record-keeping.
- A current driver's licence and a willingness to use technology and learn station systems.

The Offer
A salary of $70,000-$85,000, depending on experience and capability, plus a dedicated station work ute and private accommodation at the home property (50 km NE of Charleville).
The accommodation is a new, fully air-conditioned one-bedroom home in a peaceful setting, with a small shed alongside for private storage. Electricity, gas, and Starlink internet are included.
