About the Role
This newly created, full-time permanent Employer Engagement position offers an exciting prospect to support growth across Sydney East Metro. Working closely with site-based teams, you will identify participant employment needs, connect employers with suitable candidates and generate sustainable employment opportunities.
Alongside another Employer Engagement Officer, you will develop and strengthen employer partnerships across the region, supporting participants across multiple employment programs, including Workforce Australia (WFA) and Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA).
This is a proactive, field-based business development role suited to a confident, self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running. You will spend much of your time engaging with employers, identifying workforce needs, generating vacancies and building long-term relationships through cold calling, warm leads and face-to-face meetings. Regular travel across the region is required, along with the resilience, adaptability and commercial drive to succeed in a fast-paced, performance-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and engage recent employers to generate sustainable employment opportunities
- Develop and maintain strong employer relationships across Sydney East Metro
- Undertake cold calling, warm lead follow-up, employer visits and face-to-face business development
- Build a pipeline of vacancies and respond to employers’ recruitment needs
- Collaborate with Employment Services teams to support placements and employment outcomes
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and respond to local site needs
- Achieve monthly placement and outcome conversion targets; monitor KPIs and adjust activity as needed
- Identify opportunities throughout the region and maintain accurate employer engagement records
The Successful Candidate will:
- Ideally bring employer engagement or business development experience within Employment Services
- Alternatively offer strong recruitment, labour hire or sales experience with proven business development results
- Demonstrate an ability to establish employer partnerships and achieve demanding KPIs
- Bring existing Sydney East Metro employer networks or local market knowledge (highly regarded)
- Be self-motivated, resilient and comfortable prospecting for new business
- Show confidence, self-awareness, adaptability and strong commercial judgement
- Communicate effectively and build rapport with employers and internal teams
- Hold a current driver’s licence and be comfortable travelling regularly between sites
